Welcome to Great Hearts Archway Chandler, Serving Grades K-5
Archway Chandler will begin distance learning instruction for all enrolled students on Monday, August 10, 2020.
Archway Classical is a state-chartered public K-5 school offering a classical liberal arts education that will prepare students to enter a Great Hearts Academy in middle school. Archway Classical is the first truly classical Core Knowledge primary school in Arizona. Each student will be provided with a durable foundation in Reading, Writing, Arithmetic, Geometry, Science, and History, in addition to meaningful and substantive work and play in Spanish, Fine Arts, P.E., and competitive chess.
The Chandler campus of Archway Classical is located on the same property as Chandler Preparatory Academy at 1951 N. Alma School Rd. However, the Archway campus is distinct from the Chandler Prep campus, with a separate entrance, administration, and student area.
The mission of Archway Classical is to develop the academic potential and virtuous character in each student through the use of a content-rich, rigorous curriculum, with a special emphasis on the cultural heritage of the Western Civilization.
On-Site Online Learning
Great Hearts will be providing a physical space for students who have a specific need for support that cannot be met in the online learning environment. From Monday, August 17 until our schools open for in-building learning, we will host Great Hearts students at three of our Phoenix-area locations. Those locations will be:
- Archway Chandler/Chandler Prep located at 1951 North Alma School Road, Chandler, AZ 85224
- Archway Scottsdale located at 16648 North 94th Street, Scottsdale, AZ 85260
- Archway Trivium East located at 14130 West McDowell Road, Suite 222, Goodyear, AZ 85395
This service is open to all students in the network and is not limited only to those students currently enrolled at one of these locations.
Each location will offer a space to study, connectivity to the internet, and adult supervision during normal school hours. It will not include before or after-school care, transportation, academic support, or instruction. The service will be provided in large multi-age groups in multi-purpose rooms with possible overflow into other areas of the campus and staffed by Athenaeum employees, coaches, and staff volunteers.
Parents/Guardians will need to ensure that their student(s) have all of the tools needed to learn (i.e., fully charged laptop, headphones/earbuds with a microphone, charging cord, pencils, pens, paper, books, etc.), lunch, and a refillable water bottle.
The program will run Monday – Friday from:
- 8:00 AM – 11:45 AM for Kindergarten. Full-day Kindergarten will not be offered during this program.
- 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM for Grades 1-12
If you are interested in this program, please login to your Parent Portal to complete registration. PLEASE NOTE: In order for your student to attend the program on the first day, Monday, August 17, registration must be completed by 5:00 PM on Thursday, August 13. Completion of registration after August 13 will mean your student cannot attend until Tuesday, August 18.
